Shit my roommate says…part 1.

“Apparently the guy on the voice paints MURALS not URINALS… My mistake”

“Who sings that song?”

me: “Adele”

“It’s not on her 21 album. I’ve got that CD in my car. When we go home…” (said from our couch…)

Aww hell…

January 3, 2012 - Back to Work…bleh
Getting back in the groove of things at work…we’ve officially switched over to gmail for our work email server and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Had a webinar to go over some features of gmail this morning and I actually learned a few things I did not know already…google really is an amazing thing!
Frigid temps left the water running at the Beckley house today. I actually turned the heat up to 70 for a change, too. Tamales and Chili for dinner and this girl is spent. Got to see the roommate for a minute today! She’s pretty awesome! We both do laundry like it’s going out of style…glad water is included in the HOA…unfortunately leaks are not. Gotta love owning a home…

Today is the last day of break from work before the “long haul” to spring. Other than picking up laundry, we were lazy all day long. Too bad I didn’t get the motivation to take down Christmas deco! For such a Grinch, I sure am lazy to put that stuff away!
I know my wallet will be glad I’m going back to work tomorrow. Chicago and Christmas BROKE this girl this year!

January 1, 2011 - Pre-Preds game
I get a phone call from my partner in crime saying she has a blowout - AAA came and put her car on a “jack” since both full-size and spare are flat and incapable of holding air…Happy New Year, Trish!

letter to the editor…not really

Haha…it’s funny. I find getting to know someone recently has taken to shape as presenting a resume to a potential employer. I am glad you chose this method. Again, says a lot about you. :) Here’s the brief rundown: I am a 24 year-old “Vol” from Sevier County, TN (home of THE Dolly Parton), University of Tennessee graduate and now Nashvillian. I moved to Hendersonville in 2009 after being offered a position on a statewide gubernatorial campaign. We started the campaign as one of five viable candidates on the democratic ticket and managed to be the last one standing for the August primary - thus becoming the democratic nominee. I was the scheduler of a statewide (95 county) campaign for a DEMOCRATIC candidate in election year 2010…you do the math (or google it). I started to grasp the impeding doom about six months in and began the hunt for a safety net position. Six months later, I had an interview for an administration assistant position with Dollar General Corporation, but their HR department lacks a style of effective communication that I desire and I never heard back. In the 13th month of campaigning, I received a call from a friend about working for a non-profit that required minimal skill and offered little opportunity for growth. It was a job, and I took it. Which is where I was a few weeks ago, had you known me then (bored, but thankful). Last week, I began a new job as a Financial Aid Counselor…so I’m either making dreams come true, or crushing them. Today, I have an interview for a contract position with an Anti-Drug Coalition to head up their communication efforts with local county agencies as well as state government. I haven’t really decided yet where I want to go from here, but that would be very unfair for me to do having just started. I’ve considered going back to school to pursue a Masters, but have conflicting feelings about it since I still have student loans to pay off. The campaign world intrigues me…political or not. The organization I previously worked for served as an advocating entity of the business community to push legislation that would integrate discussion of education standards between the institutions and respective businesses across the state. Whew! That was winded! haha I hope it’s not as yucky where you are today. :) -Kendra

New Project

I need a new project…something to dive into. I start my new job next week, but I need something more for now.

Throw your soul through every open door,
Count your blessings to find what you look for,
Turn my sorrow into treasured gold,
You’ll pay me back in kind and reap just what you’ve sown,

Oh, I love hugging. I wish I was an octopus, so I could hug 10 people at a time!
